Telstra | ChristmaS - SantA’s Village
TRO adopted a traditional Christmas storybook aesthetic for Telstra's Christmas campaign, with the large in-store screens depicting Santa’s Village nestled in a snowy valley, all illustrated by the talented Jeremy Ley. A series of books in front of the screens told a Christmas story which, when touched, would trigger dozens of animations to to occur on screen - from elves having snowball fights or building a snowman, to Rudolf skiing through the scene.
The time of day in the village was linked to real time, meaning the artwork would gradually progress through a day/night cycle that was highly visible from the street outside the store.. Also produced were several animated features for the store’s exterior screens that tied in to the main theme, and a large window display using cutout shapes on multiple layers to create depth.
My responsibilities included creative direction, art direction, animation, copy writing, asset preparation, video editing and post processing.
